Twenty Twenty is one of WordPress’ most popular themes because it comes with the latest version of WordPress as the default theme.
The “Sidebar” is a feature of most WordPress themes (especially the default themes right up to Twenty Seventeen) that allows users to add a column of widgets to the right (or sometimes the left) of your site.
Twenty Twenty does not come with a sidebar which has been a bone of contention for a lot of users so a quick and easy way to add a sidebar to the theme without having to edit the core theme is desirable!
Luckily, you can easily add a sidebar to WordPress’ default Twenty Twenty theme using Options for Twenty Twenty Premium.
Once installed and active, go to “Dashboard – Appearance – Customise” then in the Customiser, go to “General Options – Inject Sidebar”.
From here you can choose where on your site you’d like to show your sidebar and you can even fine-tune the sidebar with customisations like …
- Sidebar Width
- Sidebar Widget Padding
- Sidebar Widget Title Font Size
- Sidebar Widget Text Font Size
Don’t forget to add widgets to your sidebar in order for it to be shown!
